The Honourable Dr Hari Budha Magar MBE, a former Gurkha and inspirational speaker, is renowned as the first above-the-knee amputee to summit Mt. Everest and hold a Guinness World Record. He is not only a distinguished figure within the Magar community but also a prominent leader and advocate for the Nepali diaspora in the United Kingdom and globally. His remarkable achievements and contributions have inspired many, serving as a beacon of hope and resilience for individuals within the community. As the President of the Magar Association UK (MAUK), I, Lal Bahadur Pun, would like to rally our community members and encourage everyone to contribute a nominal amount of £1 in support of Dr Hari Budha Magar’s extraordinary initiative, 7 Summits- Final Climb Appeal. This small yet significant contribution allows every Magar to participate in something truly monumental.
With an estimated population of around 40,000 Magars residing in the UK, mobilising even half of our community members for this fundraising effort could raise an impressive total of £20,000. Such a substantial amount will provide crucial support for Dr Budha Magar as he embarks on his historic endeavour, aiming not only for personal milestones but also for recognition from the prestigious Guinness World Records. This achievement would highlight Dr Budha Magar's determination and elevate the profile of the Magar community internationally.
Moreover, this initiative carries profound significance as the Magar flag will be proudly raised on the summit of Mt. Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica. This act symbolises not just a personal victory for Dr Budha Magar but also represents the collective aspirations, strength, and spirit of the Magar people worldwide. It is a moment that will resonate through generations, showcasing our rich heritage and the unwavering spirit of unity within our community. As expressed by the President of the Magar Association UK, Mr Lal Pun Magar, let us unite in this noble effort, become part of history, and demonstrate the true spirit of the Magar community. Your support matters, and together, we can make a significant impact that extends far beyond this initiative. To donate, please scan the QR code in the photo.
